I received a bar of Yamashiro Japan Organic Intensive Whitening Soap a month ago and here’s my personal feedback about the product.
The Yamashiro Japan Organic Deep Intensive Whitening Soap is wrapped in white paper. Japanese characters are written in front and at the back.
I actually hesitated to use this soap because I can’t read/understand Japanese. I always check and read labels, so I freaked out when I couldn’t figure out what’s written on the wrapper. But then my contact assured me that the soap is organic — safe for kids, pregnant women, or even cancer patients.
According to the info that was sent to me, Japan Yamashiro Organic Deep Intensive Whitening Soap is made of the finest and purest of Vitamin C, derived from organic plants and fruits extracts, which penetrates down to the 7th layer of your skin. Its deep-fast-intensive whitening action takes only 3 minutes. It works by boosting collagen to renew your skin.
It is also recommended for people with skin problems such as scars, freckles, pimples, dark spots, and chicken skin.
So here’s what the Yamashiro Organic soap looks like. I expected it to be white, but it’s similar to a regular-sized kojic soap. It has a mild, fruity scent and can be used on both face and body. I leave it on my skin for about 3 minutes.
Here’s what I love:
- That squeaky clean after-feel. *heaven*
- No peeling, but it certainly lifts off my dry skin.
- Unlike kojic soaps, it’s non-drying so my skin feels moisturized even without applying lotion. No tingling/itchy sensation, too!
- My skin got smoother and healthier! I’ve always wanted smoother skin, and this soap really do wonders!
- Improves impurities –> Clearer skin
I’m posting a photo of my leg taken under an indoor light. All throughout summer, red spots are popping everywhere on my limbs. They rarely get itchy, but they grow large enough to get the attention of the hottie checking you out. Hahaha. The redness only lasts for 1-2 days, then the area gets dry and scaly. There are days when they would really all come out, red spots all over my legs. Then there are times na parang lumulubog sila lahat. I don’t know if it’s allergy or skin asthma.
The Yamashiro whitening soap from Japan didn’t exactly cure my skin condition but it helped heal my spots faster. Whenever they would come out, nagiging dry kaagad, leaving them no chance to get bigger. It’s also such a huge relief that the spots leave little to no marks at all. The Yamashiro soap helped lighten those marks. I haven’t consulted with a derma yet because when June came, they surprisingly disappeared at hindi na bumalik. Parang seasonal chorva.
The Yamashiro soap is BFAD approved, but I suggest that if you have ongoing skin problems, consult your dermatologist first before using this product.
For the whitening part, I think it depends on how light/dark your skin is. I’m a stay at home momma so I seldom go outside, and my skin color is quite fair to start with compared to when I was still commuting back and forth for work. Plus, one month is a short period of time to actually notice remarkable whitening results.
My skin tone is mixed morena/mestiza, meaning I easily get tanned (not burned) but I get my normal skin back just as fast.. (compared to my mestiza sister who gets red when exposed to the sun, then the redness fades away at parang walang nangyari). However, when you have dark skin you easily get tanned, then the tan stays on for weeks or even months.
I think that your skin’s whitening capacity depends on your skin tone/complexion. If your skin is dark, you would notice visible whitening effects in a few weeks, but you won’t really turn white (you know what I mean?)…… UNLESS you take glutathione tabs or shots. 🙂
Dark spots, however, can be treated with discipline and proper skin care regimen. See infographic below.
All I can say is, you may only reach a certain level of ‘whiteness’ for your skin, lalo na kung morena ka. Kung hanggang dun lang, dun lang talaga. LOL. What’s important is your skin’s condition. It should be healthy and glowing, regardless of its color.
I LOOOOOOOVE the soap for its smoothening and healing properties. But the undesirable part is.. the price. Price of 1 soap is PhP 899. 2 soaps are priced at PhP 500 each (promo), and 10 soaps will get you 1 free soap. If you have the luxury to try this soap, please do. Might just work on your skin too, y’know. 😉
Thank you Ms. Gina for letting me review this product. It’s definitely one of the best soaps I’ve tried so far. 🙂
Love the skin you’re in ladies! 🙂

Hello again Maybel! I already deleted the email that they sent me. You can contact them on their FB page instead. Thanks!
How did you know it is FDA -approved? There is nothing printed in the product wrapper. Thanks so much.
Hi Maybel! The distributor sent me a document file about the product, and it says there that it’s FDA-approved.
Is this available locally? Looks interesting 🙂
Yes, an online seller offers this brand. 🙂
I haven’t tried any whitening products by read good reviews of those that are Japan-made.
Love the infographics, by the way.
Japan-made products are usually high quality. Thanks! 🙂
I like japanese Skin care products and whitening soaps! I hope I ‘ll be able to try this.
I do love Japanese skin care products too! 🙂
I want to give this organic soap a try to see if it’s effective in improving/eliminating the chicken skin on my neck. It’s quite expensive, though.
Yes it’s expensive. Let me know if it works on your skin condition, 🙂
I haven’t tried any whitening products. I’ll recommend this to my mom. She likes trying out anything that could make her whiter 🙂
My mom is also a sucker for anything that’ll keep her complexion fair and white. Kahit sa beach naka-long sleeves pa nga hahaha. 🙂
I am not exactly a fan of whitening products especially nowadays when almost everyone wanted to be whiter than their natural color (it kinda gets old) and there are a lot of products that are falsely advertised as well. But it is indeed great to see a product that actually does what it says.. 🙂
True. I want my skin to look smooth but not to look really porcelain white. And I only use whitening products on some dark spots and scars.
I like that this soap is organic and BFAD approved. Anyone who will try using it is will at least have that peace of mind that this soap is safe. The only draw back is the price which is sooo expensive! But if it is really proven to be effective then I guess that’s “value for money.” Thanks for sharing!
Yes, if it does wonders on your skin, why not? Some would really shell out a lot of money for beauty. Pero for me the price is a bit steep. Buti na lang it didn’t cause me any allergic reactions whatsoever.
Waaah! Super expensive soap ah!

True! Ilang bar of soaps na katumbas nito 🙂
There’s a llot of Japanese products out in the market nowadays. I would love to try this one out.
Oo nga, Japanese skin care is one of the best daw kasi. 🙂
I totally understand that feeling of freaking out when you don’t really understand what’s on the box lol. Glad though that you found out whether or not it was organic and for sharing the info with us as well. A friend of mine has skin problems and I’ll recommend this to her.
Anything organic is good I think. That’s why sinubukan ko rin 🙂 Thanks!
i hope this can work for morenas like me. most of the over the counter whitening soap leave a stretched-skin-feel, hope this one doesn’t have that after-use effect. thanks.
There’s no dry and tight feeling naman after. 🙂
I am not mestisa and not that morena naman but when I am exposed to sunlight, I would get red then would have sort of a sunburn then would disappear after a while. I think this japanese skin care is worth trying. =)
Pareho tayo ng skin! Yes this soap is worth trying 🙂
i love japanese skincare. one of the best i think
true!
wow! This seems like a really great product! Mejo pricey pero it’s worth it!
Yes, pricey nga lang
I’m also weary of whitening soaps. Great though to see positive results. Thanks for sharing!
As long as our skin is healthy 🙂 Thanks!
Wow a Japanese product. I don’t know if it’s jst me but I really trust Japanese products more. Hehehe..
Yes ako rin! With their culture and discipline. Kahit sa Japan Home and Saizen panatag ako sa products nila 🙂
I just wanna know if this soap stings if you’re out in the sun and commuting for a period of time.. 🙂 I’ve tried organic whitening soaps before and I’m not impressed cause of the stinging part for my skin.. 🙂
It didn’t sting, but we have different skin types so I don’t know if sensitive skin types will experience it.
Will recommend this to my sis-in-law. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome!
