Asia’s Songbird and PLDT Home brand ambassador, Ms. Regine Velasquez, showcased her vocal prowess during the fourth leg of PLDT Home’s The Regine Series Mall Tour last July 11, 2015 at Glorietta Activity Center. My husband and I were there to watch the concert for free!
The event was hosted by Joel O and DJ Pam of Wave 89.1. Guests and mall-goers had fun with games and winners were able to take home prizes and gift certificates.
Regine wannabes – Regina, Ate Reg, and Anton Diva – put up superb performances mimicking their idol before the main event. Other special guests present during the concert were Michael Pangilinan (did a duet with Regine), Ogie Alcasid with son Nathaniel James, and Direk Wenn Deramas (seated among the audience.)
Honestly, my husband and I were supposed to leave after a song or two by Ms. Regine. It was our first time to hear her sing with a live band (directed by no less than Raul Mitra himself!) and we were impressed by her amaaaaaaaaazing voice. I had goosebumps the first time she belted out her signature [sky]high notes! There was an instance that my reaction was like, nganga lang, stunned by her singing. Ang linis ng boses! I now get it why my cousin (who’s also a singer slash preschool teacher), adored her so much way back 10 or 15 years ago.

So aside from the free concert which everybody certainly enjoyed, the Regine Series campaign paved way for both PLDT subscribers and non-subscribers to easily upgrade/subscribe [at PLDT Home booths during the event] and get limited edition landline units for as low as PhP 75 per month (on top of the monthly fee) — Classic, Cordless, Corded R, and Corded W.

The 5-mall concert series ends this weekend. So to those who missed the 4 shows, you still can catch the Regine Series Mall Tour on July 18, 3PM at TriNoMa. Admission to the Regine Series Mall Tour is free and open to the public but if you sign up for a Regine Series landline unit during the concert, you get special seats and a chance to meet & greet Ms. Regine Velasquez!
