I am happy and humbled that my blog Purple Pieces has been chosen as one of the official partners of RISQ Grand Summer Fashion Show happening on March 4, 2011 at the World Trade Center Manila.

RISQ is a swimwear and lingerie design competition which will be patterned after the famous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows. Ten (10) most promising new designers from from esteemed fashion design schools will be taking the risk to come up with spectacular summer and intimate wear pieces, working closely with top fashion industry professionals – stylists, photographers, choreographers, event managers, journalists, and even business consultants.

The winning designer will receive a cash prize of Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php 50,000), a fashion business portfolio, features in a major broadsheet and a fashion magazine, along with other exciting prizes.

The RISQ is the brainchild of two young fashion forward entrepreneurs: Ms. Kristine Soquilon (prominent fashion photographer, President and CEO of Indios Bravos Multimedia and recipient of the 2010 Go Negosyo Inspiring Young Filipino Entrepreneur Award) and Ms. Cristina Tanseco-Guerrero (founder and Managing Director of Ideal Events International).
