I recently attended a basic mineral makeup workshop by Mineraux Skin Perfecting Minerals and it was both fun and enlightening. I learned about the benefits of mineral makeup, skin care basics, and makeup tips & tricks from Ms. Melissa Vergara, Mineraux’s founding partner and a certified makeup artist by the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) Manila.
Basic materials like makeup and brushes were provided by Mineraux. A wide array of mineral cosmetics were available for us to try including mineral foundation, concealer, primer, highlighter, veil, blush, bronzer, eye shadow, eye liner, eye brow powder, lip color, lip gloss. We were also introduced to different skin care products for face prepping. We used toners and moisturizers by Venus and Mars Botanicals (V&M Naturals).
Mineral makeup is believed to be more skin-friendly than traditional makeup. I’ve been using mineral makeup for more than 2 years already and I love its coverage and its barely-there feel. It’s also more affordable too.
I highly recommend their makeup workshop for starters. You will learn more about the basic skin care routine, learn how to create day to night makeup looks, learn about various makeup brushes and how to use them (blending/buffing techniques), and learn how to perfect your skin tone using different mineral powders.
The highlight of the workshop, for me, is the shaping of the brows. According to Ms. Melissa, the eyebrows frame our eyes so it’s important for them to be well-groomed and well-shaped all the time. For more info about the workshop, visit Mineraux Skin Perfecting Minerals Facebook Page.
