Life Doesn’t Have to Be Hard When You Clean Smart

No matter how big or small your living space is; it is going to get dirty. There is no right way to clean your home. There is, however, the potential to clean smarter to save yourself some work. By going through each room of your home and doing the best you can and using smart cleaning you can make sure that you are efficiently cleaning your home quickly.

Life Doesnt Have to Be Hard When You Clean Smart

Kitchen

Wiping surfaces, making sure the fridge does not get too bad, and washing your dishes daily can keep overwhelming messes from accumulating in your kitchen. This saves you time as you clean.

Dishes

Many individuals allow the dishes to sit in the sink so they do not have to wash them. The idea of washing dishes can seem overwhelming.

A way that you can change how you view the task of doing the dishes every day; you can set a timer when you wash them.

Write down how long it took you the first time; after they piled up. Now, time it the next day without waiting. Time how long it takes you each time you do the dishes. The lesser time will help motivate you to complete the task daily. You can even make it a game by trying to beat your best time!.

One of the worst things about doing the dishes is washing a pot after it has been scorched.

The good news is that you do not have to spend an extended amount of time scrubbing the pot. You can put baking soda over the burnt part and then fill between one-third and half of the pot with boiling water. Once you can touch the water; grab your sponge and the scorch marks will easily come off. Once you have finished pour the solution out of the pot and wash it using hot water and dish soap.

Another thing that people debate over when discussing how to clean their home is loading their dishwasher. There is not a right way to clean the dishwasher. There is a rule though that can make your life much easier if you follow it. The easiest way for you to load the dishwasher is from the back and work your way toward the front.

Clean the Sink

Cleaning the sink is not only something many individuals do not think about; it is something that is often neglected. The sink can be cleaned using a cleaner from the store. This can allow you to clean the food, bacteria, and germs from the sink. Think about how often you touch the faucet in your kitchen; and what is on your hands when you do. Sponges are another thing we don’t think about cleaning often. Cleaning sponges are as easy as popping them into the microwave or dishwasher. It is important to ensure the sponge is free of metal before you decide to use your microwave to clean it.

You also want to make sure that the sponge is soaked before putting it in the microwave for no more than two minutes. Remember that the sponge is going to be hot when you remove it from the microwave.  Have you noticed an excessive amount of bacteria in the holder for your sponge? You can use white vinegar or bleach to correct this issue. Simply dip the sponge into either or (do not combine them; this is dangerous) and use the sponge to wash away the mold that has developed. You can then wash the holder with hot water or put it in the dishwasher to complete the cleaning process.

Counters

You want to use your cleaner to wipe down your stove and countertops every time you use them. Stovetops benefit greatly from regular cleaning immediately after use. Stoves have more splatters and drips that harden quickly and become increasingly difficult to clean than any other part of the kitchen.

Speakings of cleaning your stove, there is a way you can make it easier on yourself. When splatters harden on your stove; it takes a lot of effort to clean them effectively. You can use a scratch-resistant scrubbing sponge and use it in combination with powder cleaner. This makes cleaning tough messes shorter and easier. Make sure that if you use stainless steel to clean that you use the grain to clean with and avoid going in a circular motion so that you do not scratch the stove. Do not press too hard as you clean. Don’t use force to clean the stovetop. Use the product instead and allow it to do the majority of the work for you.

Cleaning the outside of smaller appliances can also be difficult. Toasters, blenders, and even coffee pots that people leave on their counters need to be cleaned frequently to prevent buildup from cooking and bacteria from growing. When it’s time to clean the appliances a little deeper, take all the parts that can be removed and wash them. Then use a toothbrush or q-tips to clean the outside a good cleaning with an all-purpose cleaner. This allows you to clean the parts that you are normally unable to clean.

The Fridge

Cleaning the fridge is a task that is scary enough to give many individuals nightmares. There is an easy way to make sure that you keep your fridge presentable by simply adding a step to taking out the trash daily. When you are ready to take out the kitchen garbage, look inside the fridge. Throw away any leftovers that are no longer edible.  When you’re ready to clean a spill or a mess out of the fridge, doing it appropriately can keep you from having to deal with the consequences. Stick situations in the fridge or pantry can make a nightmare. Using a sponge and hot water, press it to the sticky messes until the heat lessens from the cloth or sponge. The stickiness should lose so that you can wipe it away. Simply repeat until you it loosens so you can clean it.

Trash

Another critical part of keeping your house clean is not letting your trash build up.

Allowing it to sit is not going to solve the problem. Make sure that you are throwing the trash in your home away and that you are taking the garbage out when the can is full.

Bathroom

Another difficult room that everyone hates to clean is the bathroom. However, the bathroom is probably the main area of your home that cleaning every week can make your life easier. The longer you wait to clean the bathroom; the harder the job will be. Of course, you can always avoid this nightmare with Dust to Dazzle Maids and allow someone else to handle the cleaning for you.

Shower, Toilet, Tub, and Sink

You do not have to put in as much effort as you may think. The products that you can purchase at the store to clean the shower, toilet, tub, and sink are designed to do the hard stuff for you. If you follow the directions and allow the cleaner to sit for the length of time on the instructions; you won’t have to do as much leg work. It’s a good idea to start in a spot that others will not notice when using a new product. This allows you to see if there is going to be any type of discoloration before using the product on your entire bathroom.

Tile

Grout and tile is another area of the bathroom that the cleaner is designed to do the majority of the work for you. There are many mildew and/or mold eliminating cleaners that can be applied before you scrub the surface. This makes the task easier and quicker.

Soap Scum

Soap scum does not look good. Soap scum builds up on glass doors and can be irritating as you try over and over again to clean them. Get a dryer sheet, wet it, and use a circular motion to scrub the glass. You will notice white film forms. This can easily be wiped off with a paper towel. You can recycle a dryer sheet for this task.

Hair

Hair is one of the biggest issues in the bathroom of living space. Hair should be easy to clean up. Make sure that you clean the floor; including sweeping and mopping. You can also use paper towels and rags to clean hair in hard-to-reach places such as around the toilet. Make sure that you are not using liquid or a wet mop before cleaning up the dry hair.

Bedroom

Using a tiny bit of effort every day can make a large impact in our bedrooms. All you have to do is make sure that you take the dirty dishes to the kitchen daily and that you are making your bed every day. These small steps will greatly improve the overall appeal of your bedroom.

Make Your Bed

We’ve heard it since we were young. Make your bed every day. It’s a good habit. Not only does it make the bedroom more welcoming when you come home from a good day at work; but helps keep pet hair and dander off your sleeping space. Making your bed is a ritual you can get into that helps signal your brain to begin getting ready for bed. You also sleep better when you go to bed in a bed that is made up. Many individuals think that making their bed is not worth the effort because they are just going to sleep in it again. However, having a made bed can make you feel better because of the presentation it gives.

Wash the Sheets

Bed sheets should be washed at least bi-weekly. Several things play into whether or not you should make your bed once a week.

If you sleep in the nude, have more than one person in your bed, have sex frequently, sweat heavily at night, or have children co-sleeping with you; you should probably wash your sheets weekly. Clean sheets can also help you sleep better at night.

Clothes

Do not let clothes pile up in your room. Make sure that putting your clothes up is part of the laundry day ritual. By making it part of laundry day you can prevent the clothes from piling up. It is frustrating to wash clean clothes.

Surfaces

Using something to help you keep the surfaces clean can help you feel good. Dusting the bedside tables, books, dresser tops, etc. can make eliminating dust quick and efficient. Make sure that you dust before you vacuum your floor. If not you are going to find yourself vacuuming more than once. Always work from the top down no matter what room you are in.

Make sure that you move dirty dishes into the kitchen when you wake up the next day to prevent them from piling up. You should also invest in nightstands. Having a small area by your bed will allow you a space to store things that you use at bedtime; such as your favorite book or journal so that they are not just laying around the room creating clutter.

Living Room

The key to smartly cleaning your living room is to tidy it up. This is probably the easiest room to clean daily. You can start by taking anything that does not go into the living room and putting it where it belongs. Then make sure everything is straight in the room. This means fluffing pillows, straightening bookcases, etc.

You can also wipe spots off your furniture to keep it looking nice in your living room.

By doing these simple tasks you can make your life easier and prevent messes that will take you hours to clean from occurring. OF course, you always have the option of investing in a maid and avoiding the headache of cleaning together. When you hire a professional to clean your space; you ensure that you do not have to worry about the headache. They are professionals and ensure that your home is always presentable and sanitary.
