Discovering your child’s potential through fun, learning activities
Do you want to discover your child’s talent and hone it to its full potential? Me and my kid were invited to the launch of Promil Four i-Shine Talent Camp 6 and I’m going to share with you how to discover your child’s gift.
Promil Four i-Shine Talent Camp Launch
The Promil Four i-Shine Talent Camp event was held in Makati Diamond Residences. Z was excited when I told him about the surprises and activities that were prepared for the kids. We had our lunch first, and the program started with celebrity mom Toni Gonzaga welcoming us all.
Proper nutrition, Proper stimulation, and Proper parenting
Child development experts, including celebrity mom Dimples Romana, were invited to the stage to share their tips on how to discover and nurture a child’s gift.
It was mentioned during the discussion that we, as parents, should be observant and sensitive to our child’s inclinations. Does your little one hums or sings all the time or does he/she enjoys art activities such as coloring and painting? These inclinations are clues to your child’s interests and potential talents.
Let them explore on their own, stimulate their creativity, and push them to explore their full potential.
If you haven’t noticed any inclinations yet (that’s very rare but it can happen especially to infants and toddlers), help your child find his/her talent by exposing your child to participate in various activities — art, science, math & logic, sports, dance, etc. Don’t worry if you jump from one skill to another because at this stage you need to find what your child will love.
If you already know your child’s interests (whatever your child enjoys doing) or skills that he/she is good at, the next step is crucial — NURTURING. How do you nurture the gift? Encourage your child to do more of that activity or skill, expose them to a broader scope of the skill, and let him or her join workshops and specialized classes.
Talented kids from previous iShine talent camps showcased their gifts and we were all awed by their performances.

Maestro Ryan Cayabyab returns as the camp master who will lead the Music Workshop, Teacher Georcelle Sy, of the G-Force Dance School for the Dance Workshop, Teacher Robert Alejandro and his team from Papemelroti for the Art Workshop, and a new set of workshops focused on Engineering to be led by Teacher Lei Sta. Maria of Engineering for Kids.

The Dance Camp – Teacher Georcelle Sy of the G-Force Dance School
Join Teacher Georcelle and her growing team! If your child got the moves, this dance camp with 6 workshop modules will further improve your child’s spatial awareness, discipline, teamwork skills, and stage presence.
During the launch, Z was able to join the dance activity, together with a few G-Force dancers, and he said that it was one of the highlights of his afternoon.
The Art Camp – Robert Alejandro of Papemelroti
Kuya Robert Alejandro of Art is Kool and “RO” of Papemelroti – no doubt your child will be in good hands when it comes to arts and crafts! Your child will learn watercolor painting, collage making, sculpting, mono-printing, and more!
Kuya Robert prepared giant paper owls for the kids. My son collaborated with other kids to finish designing an owl.
The Music Camp – Maestro Ryan Cayabyab of The Music School of Ryan Cayabyab
Musically-inclined kids will learn from the Maestro himself! The camp also welcomes kids who aren’t into music but would like to develop other important skills such as learning music through movements and song, ear training through vocal ensemble, honing the motor skills through instrumental ensemble, learning new songs and new instruments, putting voices and instruments together, and mastering musical numbers for performances.
Z is currently having piano lessons and but he said he doesn’t want to sing. I think this class can help him further develop his love for rhythm and music.
The Engineering Camp – Lei Sta. Maria of Engineering for Kids
The newest workshop in the camp! This is for kids who are always inquisitive with how things work. With teacher Lei Sta. Maria of Engineering for Kids, children will have fun learning chemical, aerospace, mechanical, civil, hardware engineering and junior robotics.
This camp was Z’s favorite. He said if he would enroll, he would pick Engineering because he wants to learn how to make a robot.
