When we hear the words “power dressing“, what normally come to mind are suits, heels, and structured outfits. But as for me, a dedicated stay at home mom, it simply means taking off my mommy jammies and putting on clothes that will help me get through my busy days.
Juggling several tasks each morning is never an easy feat, that’s why sometimes I can’t help but feel exhausted and losyang na by lunchtime. So in between chores I really need to drink coffee or tea and change into fresh clothes to perk me up.
I’ve also come to accept the changes motherhood and parenting did to my body. Honestly, as a mommy of two, I have a lot of reasons to be insecure about. But thank heavens for pretty clothes, makeup, and skin care products I am able to live with my insecurities and slowly learn to love them day by day.

Power Dressing & Individuality
I happen to love dressing up but I’m not a fashionista. I don’t follow trends and I don’t spend a lot of my money on clothes. But I guess you don’t need a million bucks and a truckload of shirts, skirts, pants, and dresses to look attractive. It will all come out naturally when you know how to mix and match and if you are confident about what you wear.
My personal style is eclectic — sometimes by choice, but most of the time it’s because 90% of what’s inside my closet are gifts from loved ones and friends. Luckily enough I could get away with anything, even weird-looking outfits. So don’t get surprised when one day you see me put on a goth-like attire then the next day I’m all about unicorns and cotton candy. LOL.
Whenever I’m running errands, you’d see me wear simple clothing pieces that are comfortable and functional — plain tees, shorts or jeans, cardigans, and slip-on shoes. These uncomplicated outfits are my ultimate go-to staples. Ang hirap yata maghabol ng bata at magbuhat ng groceries when you’re in fitted dresses and heels! 🙂
Moving on from casual to formal wear, this photo was taken when I was pregnant with our second child. Although I felt a bit insecure during that time when my tummy was poking out and I didn’t generally feel good about myself (blame the hormones!), I still made an effort to doll up for our Lolo and Lola’s wedding.
Clothes really have this mysterious power of turning a bad day around and making you feel more prepared to take on the challenges ahead. 🙂
Power Dressing & Inspiring Other Moms
During my eldest son’s recognition ceremony early this year I told my mom that I wasn’t in the mood to prepare an outfit. That was so not like me because I normally plan ahead for special occasions.
It was my mom who reminded me that momentous life events call for special clothes, and even if you don’t feel like dressing up, you should at least make an effort to look good.
Just like me, my mom is also a housewife and I admire her for being such a strong and stylish woman. 🙂
I also get inspired by my mommy friends who strut their outfits and share their stories on social media. Parang maiisip mo na lang na, these moms are working hard day and night and yet they still have time to glam up and pamper themselves! If they can do it, I can make a better version of myself, too! 🙂

Power Dressing & #FashionCare
Dressing up and making sure that your clothes are well taken cared of actually go hand in hand. Let’s say you bought a really expensive dress, then after a few washes faded na agad! You wasted your hard-earned money on a dress that isn’t going to last and isn’t going to make you feel proud of yourself.
My mom and I are clothing hoarders; we shop (nothing expensive) then we keep our clothes for decades. Yes, decades. She still keeps my gowns from way back high school and college. So for our clothes to stand the test of time, we really give special care and attention. 🙂
Black clothes should stay black and colored clothes should not appear faded – unless they’re originally washed out. Funny ’cause I get mini heart attacks whenever I see holes and frays.. and STAINS. Laundry dilemma at its worst!
My family’s clothes get the same special care. Outfits for little boys are expensive (compared to little girls’ clothes) so I make sure that their clothes are always in mint condition.
I may not know how to take those perfect OOTD shots but when it comes to #FashionCare, I’m certainly a pro. And pros choose Electrolux.

Wish I can get that Electrolux washing machine too!

This post is really valuable to spread message on power dressing, specially for stay at home moms.I believe in power dressing too,but I am also not a fashionista.Instead I like to wear simple, comfortable yet stylish dress for any occasion.
I wish I could find the time and the will to dress better. But I usually like five minutes more sleep than worry about power dressing.
When we’re busy we tend to dress randomly 🙂 But doing so somehow makes me feel down
This is just in time.Black should remain black.Right ?
Checking out Electrolux.
Yes! Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂
Ay, I love your entry! Good luck to all of you! I’m excited to know who will win. About fashion and dressing up naman, ako, napakasimple lang din ng mga suot ko. Like you, I don’t want to spend lots of $$ just for clothes. I like to buy cheap ones with good quality.
Thank you sis Nilyn! 🙂 Yup, there are affordable clothes na good quality naman.
Power dressing is different for me on different days. Right now I am more deviated towards comfort clothing and getting the work done.
And that Electrolux Fashion Care sounds perfect
Lovely post! Being a homemaker is not an excuse to be losyang. Every homemaker should present themselves well, because you are the COO of your home.
COO — I love the title! Thank you Blair! 🙂
Power dressing always means different on different days for me. For now, I want to live in the comfiest clothes and get the things done.
Oh, Electrolux Fashion Care just got into my wish list too. Thanks for sharing
I so much agree to you, we need to focus on ourselves, our clothing and not neglect it even though one many be SAHM. I love dressing up when I go outside and they bring up confidence in me.
Dressing up makes us feel good about ourselves! 🙂
I agree! Never disregard yourself. And use all the help you can get your hands on, using technology. When I’m in home I used to wear a simple and comfortable clothes much often.
True! Thanks for visiting my blog! 🙂
This looks like a pretty amazing washer! Love the idea of dressing up even if you don’t have any plans. Something about it makes me feel amazing!
When you feel good being dressed up, it really does something to boost your self-confidence! 🙂
Comfy clothes for me as well especially that I’m into social services field of work. Being in the community and dealing with simple living people, jeans and shirt are my best comfy outfit ever
Comfy and simple clothes are the best! They’re the most functional and versatile, too!
OMG, I am with you 100%. I try to at least look decent even If I go to the supermarket. Sometimes I feel so tired though.
Yes! ‘Cause you might bump into someone you know and you should always be at least decent-looking 🙂
Power dressing means different to many people. But I must say you are a very stylish mom, loved your outfits in the photos!
Thank you for the compliments Teona! 🙂
What a great washing machine Electrolux is! I have the same so I know! You look great in all the outfit even though you dont spent to much time or money into it.
Thanks! 🙂 Our washing machine and refrigerator are both Electrolux 🙂
I need to get a new washer and dryer! Mine is getting rather old. I admit, I’m all about comfort so I’m mostly in jeans and t-shirts. I dress up once in a while, but it’s not really my thing.
I think we can all agree on wearing comfy clothes. Yay! 🙂
Love this outlook, taking care of clothes, even cheap ones means they last so much longer and stay looking fresh
True! Sometimes it’s not the price of the clothes, it’s how you take care of them 🙂
I enjoyed this blog post as I really want to start making an effort more with my appearance. I don’t want to be the scruffy mum haha. Inspired
LOL at the word SCRUFFY. That’s how I feel sometimes. But of course I need to make myself more presentable especially when going outdoors.
I’m a full time mom too so I don’t always buy clothes since puro pambahay clothes lang need ko. 🙂 But if I’m going out, I like wearing comfortable and casual clothes. I don’t hoard clothes naman because we have very limited space so I donate, give or sell preloved clothes.
Yes to comfy and casual clothes! 🙂 I sometimes sell my preloved clothes (garage sale during holidays)
I agree, power dressing can mean different things to different people. My definition of power dressing changed too when I became a work-at-home mom, which is something I love because I got sick of wearing office clothes already.
I never really liked office clothes because they clash with my personality.. too formal for me 🙂
Totally agree! Never ever neglect yourself. And use all the help you can get your hands on, including technology 😁
Yes! We need to help ourselves first before we extend our help to the ones we love 🙂
We have the same definition of power dressing haha 🙂 #momlife
I love how efficient Electrolux Fashion Care is. This is definitely a life saver for moms. Top one on a mummy’s wish list
Motherhood changes women 🙂 Yes it’s on top of my holiday wish list too!
