Davao Crocodile Park Manila
This blog post is about our mini educational trip with the kids at Crocodile Park wherein we’ve seen and experienced these attractions – Crocoseum, Super Bird Show, Crocodile Feeding, Crocodile Dancing, Tightrope Walking, and Interactive Wildlife Encounter.
“Davao Crocodile Park Manila” is confusing, kung saan ba siya, in Davao or in Manila, LOL. So here’s what I learned.. the Davao Crocodile Park in Pasay is also owned and operated by Davao Crocodile Park in Davao City, the main branch.
I bought 2 tickets via Ensogo for PHP 600. Then the rest of the tickets doon na namin binili. Entrance fee is around 200 – 300 each. May discount ang kids.
Crocoseum: The Natural History Museum
We entered the Crocoseum and we were awed by the displays inside. There are a number of preserved remains and fossils of different mammals, reptiles, insects, and other creatures. The place kinda creeped me out, especially the big bottle filled with dead snakes, kaya nagfocus na lang ako sa descriptions.
There was a life-size statue of the Philippine Eagle and we were awed by its size. Ang laki pala niya!
Super Bird Show
We enjoyed watching the Super Bird Show. Cockatoos, eagles, hornbills, and other bird species unknown to me showcased their skills. The trained birds are super adorable to watch, especially the cockatoo that rides a mini bicycle. Ang galing lang, the birds know how to follow instructions.
My brother was called up on stage to assist the trainer, tapos he was “kissed” by a hornbill LOL.
The Crocodiles
The main attraction. It’s really a crocodile paradise because there are a lot of crocodile enclosures in the park.
Crocodile Feeding & Crocodile Dancing
We’ve seen how keepers fed the crocodiles, tossing food inside cages every now and then. Then we went to see one of the larger enclosures for crocodile dancing.
Chunks of meat were attached to fishing lines and in just a few moments, crocodiles leaped out of the water to snatch their juicy meal. The jumping looked like they were dancing in the air.
Tightrope Walking
We thought the crocodile dancing would be the highlight of our trip. Ito pala. Tightrope walking was a heart-stopping show. A man showed us how to walk and balance on a cable, while underneath him are hungry predators swarming, waiting for him to lose his balance.
It was really stressful to watch but it was also entertaining. May background music kasi and the tightrope artist was dancing to it pa. Buti na lang hindi siya nahulog kasi it would be a traumatizing sight for us.
Interactive Wildlife Encounter
In this fun activity, we were able to touch/hold a python and a baby crocodile (snout was taped, I was relieved. My little boy was so brave he didn’t even flinch. Ang galing!
We also had a chance to spot a tiger, a cassowary, ostriches, goats, and more birds when we were roaming around the area. There’s a playground for the kids na may crocodile statues.
We’ll be having more adventures like this one for sure!
