Capital Cities came here in Manila last January to promote their new album. My husband listens to some of their songs so we went to Trinoma to watch them perform live.

I personally have no idea about them until that night. We weren’t actually inside the paid area because my husband said we’ll just drop by and listen to a song or two. Turned out we stayed until the end because we were so caught up with the music, with the crowd.

I easily recognized the first song (Kangaroo Court) they performed because my husband used to play it in his phone. ‘Safe and Sound’ is another good song from their album.

The trumpet guy, Spencer Ludwig, is a crowd favorite (he’s half Pinoy!). Some bands or singers suck when they’re on stage, singing live, but they nailed each song very well, very much like Yellowcard when we went to their concert here in Manila a few years ago.
