#BetterMe Campaign

As the leading and pioneer skin whitening brand in the Philippines, SkinWhite aims to give young Filipinas the tools they need to improve who they are—both inside and out. So aside from offering effective skin care products, they’ve also launched a four-month campaign called #BetterMe, to help inspire and empower teens to become better version of themselves.

“SkinWhite’s #BetterMe campaign inspires me a lot,” shares actress and SkinWhite ambassador, Kim Chiu. “It makes us girls look at the brighter side of life. I can now say I’m a #BetterMe [because of it.]”

The Captivate Council

Last summer, SkinWhite launched its 2nd batch of the Captivate Council. Twenty five (25) lovely and inspiring girls from some of the most prestigious college campuses in the country were chosen to participate in the four-month #BetterMe campaign. Members of the Captivate Council have had magazine and multimedia exposure. They also participated in lots of fun events such as the #BetterMe Ball, outreach activities, fitness parties, beauty and fashion makeovers, and more.

For the girls to look even more gorgeous during their shoots, they’ve prepped their skin from head-to-toe using samples of the SkinWhite Power Whitening Face Cream Powder and SkinWhite Advanced Power Whitening Lotion.

After four months, SkinWhite awarded the girls who excelled and shined the brightest:

• The #BetterMe Award was given to Merika Tan, who improved the most in personality and confidence.
• The Social Media Ambassador Award. This was awarded to Marie Kim Lim for sharing the most number of quality posts on social media about the #BetterMe campaign and captivate council activities.
• Stylista Award. Louis Fernando won this for being the girl who lives and breathes, fashion and style. She’s always well-dressed in all of the activities.
• Top Performer Award. This goes to Alec Yabut. She attended all the events and was an eager participant in all the activities.

Now it’s my turn to share my experience with two of SkinWhite’s whitening products:

Journey to a #BetterMe

Inspired by how the Captivate Council worked hard to improve themselves, I also have my own transformation story to share. As a stay-at-home mom I usually get too overwhelmed with taking care of practically ‘everything’ around the house, so I sometimes have these ‘losyang’ moments. I’m a laidback person by nature, so the struggle is real. I have to regularly fight the urge to slack off on my personal improvement, especially when it comes to beauty and fitness.

What I did firsthand is to kick-start a beauty routine. Since I don’t go outside and meet people often, I’ve created a low maintenance yet effective beauty regimen. Yes I’m a SAHM but it’s not an excuse to look shabby.

I also de-stress by doing what I love — capturing moments with my kids and posting them on Instagram, cooking new dishes, getting serious with a newfound craft, trying out a new restaurant, shopping, reading novels, watching movies/tv series, playing video games, and blogging. Stress is a major health risk so I make sure to relax from time to time.

It’s not “be yourself” anymore, it’s “be The Best Version of yourself.” I know that I can do more, give more, achieve more. There is always room for improvement and I think modern ladies should also choose to look for new learnings and opportunities.

I firmly believe that a woman should be beautiful inside and out. As mentioned by Liz Caceres, assistant brand manager for SkinWhite, looking good should always come together with feeling good and doing good. Therefore, a girl should blossom into a woman who knows how to appreciate and take care of her God-given features and talents, a woman who enjoys growing in knowledge and wisdom, and a woman who fills her heart with all the good qualities a human being should possess.
