I’m blogging about this Adventure time bento that I made for Z during 1st grade. 🙂
First day of school is always special. Especially when your kid will go to a new school and you’re just as worried as he is.
So my first-day bento funk is all about one of his favorite cartoon series, Adventure Time. I love to draw inspiration based on the things he likes and from the shows that we watch together. Trust me, you’ll love this bento box—post it online and you’ll gain TikTok followers over it!
I usually don’t make bento plans but with this one, I bought Moo chocolate Adventure Time drinks and a pack of cooked ham. I wanted to have a bento book for bento meal planning but I really don’t have time and energy for that.
So I started with Finn the Human’s head — white bread for the headpiece, ham cut into an oval shape for the face, and nori for the eyes and mouth (I used a kawaii puncher from Saizen).
I realized that a backpack was too difficult to make so I just made a sword using bread crusts. I pinned the bread pieces at the back with a food pick.
We had lettuce in the fridge so I used them as fillers or separators to help set the main character.
Since I didn’t plan on anything but Finn, I just took some bread strips leftovers and laid them at the bottom of the small container of the lunch box and put some M&M’s on top. Good thing somebody gave us a pack of chocolates!
The M&M’s colors represent the other characters from the show — Princess Bubblegum, Lumpy Space Princess, Flame Princess, Marceline the Vampire Queen, Ice King, Lady Unicorn, and BMO.
The third partition had fruit roll-ups and slices of cheese.
What do you think of my Finn bento box? 🙂

A few years ago I cooked bacon pancakes for Z because he said it’s Jake the Dog’s favorite. I’ll also be blogging about Jake the Dog bento version in the next few weeks. 🙂
I love making bento for my kiddos. Unfortunately the school has a compulsary lunch program which makes it a bit difficult to do so. hahaha I love this idea for an adventuretime bento… and I think for the blue you can use blue ketchup… the ones that come in crayola ish packaging 🙂
WOW! I always wanted to create bento meals like these for my little minions. If only I had enough time to prepare and do it in the morning huhuhu! #adventuretimebento
We used to love Adventure Time! Goodluck with the bento, it’s difficult but it’s always worth it.
Nice! I only tried making a bento box once and it was during a workshop. None of my kids now bring packed lunch to school anymore. Kudos to all you moms who really take the time to make bento boxes for your kids. It’s not easy! Haha!
Ang ganda! I love Adventure Time, lagi ko pinapanood nung single days ko. hehe! Where to buy Nori? I am a newbie bento mom, gusto ko nga mag-attend ng events for my toddler’s future baon.
I admire you mommies for making bento meals for your kids I know hindi siya madali gawin. Love your bento
Wow super nice! I really want to create fancy bentos like this pero aside from not having enough time in the mornings (my schedule is crazy and unpredictable!), I think masisira lang ang arrangement by the time we arrive at school sa likot ng anak ko hehehe.
i have tools na for bento-making but i havent tried it yet. I really have high regards for moms who do bento because its kind of hard kasi you need active imagination and artistic skills – the latter i surely lack. I tried to make a mickey mouse using rice, it looked like a class c imitation! haha
Ang cute! My SIL recently destashed her bento supplies and I bought it from her. I haven’t tried it yet though. I hope to make nice baon stuffs too!
Nate will start schooling next year so, I’m such sooner or later, I’ll work on his baon as well. I’d love to do simple bentos for him too. 🙂 This one’s nice, sis!
This is pretty neat!!! <3 I love Adventure Time and how the colors and food mixed well. I bet any kid would love having this. Sometimes, Bento Making is something I wish I had the patience for but thank you for sharing this 🙂 I'll try it with my little boy <3
